I originally started out making lutes, theorbos and other early stringed instruments. I don’t get much call for that sort of thing these days, but if you are interested in an early instrument I’d love to make it for you.
I also build hurdy gurdies, I’ve been trying to use the construction methods of the old makers, who did most of the woodwork more or less freehand. I feel this gives the instrument an authentic charm and character that is sometimes missing from the clinically precise work of many modern makers. I’d also be more than willing to make any other ‘folk instrument’ you have set your heart on.
